Manage units and ownership

Units represent the homes, apartments, townhouses, mixed-use spaces, or other properties managed by the community.

  1. Open Units from the dashboard.
  2. Select the action to add a unit.
  3. Enter a unique Unit number.
  4. Choose a category: Detached, Townhouse, Apartment, or Mixed use.
  5. Add the street, section, and type when useful.
  6. Save the unit.

Use a consistent naming convention. For example, decide whether the community uses A-101 or Building A / 101 before importing many records.

Open the unit and add existing community members with an appropriate relationship such as owner, tenant, or resident. Invite the person first if they do not yet belong to the community.

Member assignment controls context and visibility. It does not replace the historical ownership record used for assessment obligations.

Ownership is effective-dated. Add one or more existing members, or record an external owner by name. When multiple parties own a unit, their shares must be greater than zero and total exactly 100%.

Review the effective date and preview a transfer before saving it. Existing invoices, credits, and payments stay with their original ownership period; future assessment obligations use the new period.

Authorized users can set whether a unit is billable and assign billing groups. Confirm these settings before previewing an assessment run, especially after adding new units or changing ownership.

Archive units that should leave active operations while retaining their record. Before archiving, review open tickets, member assignments, invoices, and current ownership.
