Discussions and notifications
Use discussions for conversations that benefit from shared context. Use notifications for updates members need to see without turning every notice into a long-running thread.
Find a discussion
Section titled “Find a discussion”Open Discussion topics. Search or filter the list by forum, then open a topic to read the full conversation and replies. Clear filters if an expected topic is missing.
Create a useful topic
Section titled “Create a useful topic”- Choose the most relevant forum.
- Write a specific title that describes the question or update.
- Put the key information in the opening message, including dates and affected areas.
- Attach supporting context when the feature is available to your role.
Good title: Pool closed October 12 for pump maintenance
Less useful title: Important update
Moderate discussions
Section titled “Moderate discussions”Admins, managers, and authorized staff can keep threads useful by correcting the forum, editing their own material where allowed, and moderating inappropriate content. Lock a topic when the conversation is complete or should remain read-only.
Use notifications intentionally
Section titled “Use notifications intentionally”Notifications are best for time-sensitive or official community information. Keep the message concise and include the action residents should take. Do not post private account, payment, or security information in a community-wide message.
